Galatus – Dreadtober 2020 #2 – Finished

By | 10/30/2020

Dreadtober is nearlt finished already! I am adding a Galatus to my Custodes of the Dammed for this years contribution. For those that don’t know the event is themed about about more Dreadnoughts to the battlefields. While these models can be used in Horus Heresy, I am planning to exclusively use them in Warhammer 40k. My Custodes are building to a 2,000 point list and it includes a Galatus.

Compared to the last post I have polished off a lot of the details. The metallics have had their rust and grim added, to really help add some interest to all that black. More of the purple spot colour has been added, in particular on the shield. My freehand has always been a bit sketchy, so I did my best to work that out on this one. I am quite happy with how it turned out in the end. Lettering is rather tricky on a sloped surface, with a curve in the letters as well.

Finally the sword had some highlights of the light picked out to show some reflections of light. That will have to be something I work on going forward, not quite happy with the effect. But all in all I am happy with the over all effect.

Great job and unique sword, very dubious Relictors worthy even 😉

Well I think all of my Custodes of the Damned are a little … dubious. Cheers.
