+++ Magnus the Red! +++
The start of a new year and time to hit the ground running! So I am starting straight into a Christmas present with the big man himself: Magnus the Red, father of the Thousand Sons! While I am doubtful I will end up running the model, I couldn’t deny the thrill of putting him together. Lets jump right in with some pictures:
Warhammer 40K Thousand Sons: Magnus The Red. Slightly adjusted pose. |
As you can see I have left the armour and wings off to make it easier to paint everything. I am still back and forth about keeping the chest armour. Possibly re-sculpt it to lose the nipple horns or just leave it off altogether. I do not understand the design point of those horns. At the moment I have left the crown off as well, I quite like the look of it. The crown will most likely stay off altogether.

The base is going to have a cracked ground feel, I want to have either lave or glowing green light coming up from the cracks in the ground. What do you think?
Greenstuff work on the wrist twist. |
The various bits of green stuff were modified so the wrist had a better angle and to filled in gaps were the model didn’t sit quite right. Some of the parts just didn’t connect correct, even after filing them back. This is not a great sign on such an expensive model.

The other wrist still needs some smoothing out. |
Things coming up this year in the next couple of months posts are some Old School Eldar from Allen Stroud and my other Christmas presents: Scarab Occult and Exalted Sorcerers.
