Shadespire: Completed Miniatures

Here we are at last with my finished Shadespire miniatures. We got the game from Alchemists Workshops to review and are very grateful. The models are wonderful and it is great to see some completed miniatures on the board. This will be our final look at the starter box set minis, so lets dive right in.

For Sigmar!

Team Gold!

I am really quite happy with how these worked out in the end. Initially there was some worry in my mind over the choice of colours. The purple on gold is a combo test for my Sisters of Battle project coming up and it passes with flying colours. The silver into the scale tabbards gives a nice contrast I believe.

Walk softly and carry a huge hammer.

The white spot colour was problematic but some great advice in comments should help with that. Next time I will go grey over those areas first.

My star of the warband.

This is the figure I was looking forward to painting the most, I am all up for more inclusion in the games I play. Not only that but she was the star of the two test games I have played (a battle report is coming soon).

Blood for the blood God!

A blood soaked mob

Ths Khorne followers not only play very differently than the Stormcast but look hugely different. Comparing the two sets of completed miniatures just helps to highlight that fact.

Achieving different skin tones on each model was the challenge I set myself. If you saw any of the previous posts you can see how I started them up from white. This gave me a lot of options to play with. In particular I am happy with the black skin on the right figure (below). A realistic look for that skin is hard to do. This was done by layers of agrax earthshade built up slowly, with some placed nuln oil to create some final shadows.

There we have it now, the full set of completed miniatures. Even as a painting project I fully recommend Shadespire, they are wonderfully posed. Both Warbands handle well on the battlefieldand uniquely enough to make them different. Already I am eyeing up my next Warband. tOther has challenged me to make the Orks armour look interesting…
