Introducing #Squaduary!

+++ Welcome to Squaduary +++

This is the introduction to a little event I am running for February called Squaduary. The aim is to get that box-set you got over all the holidays or the unit you haven’t touched all Winter and get them done. Start the month with an unpainted, or even un-assembled, squad and end the month with a full painted (and hopefully) based unit. Because we all have more squads, teams, crews or units that need painting.

+++ The Stages +++

There will be four stages, each taking a week, to this:

1. Assembly: 1st – 7th
Taking them off the sprues or putting them on bases, what ever way you get them ready for paint.

2. Basic painting: 8th – 14th
This is your basic coating and blocking in colours.
3. Clean up and details: 15th – 21st
Cleaning up your colours and picking out all the bits to make the mini stand out.
4. Basing: 22nd – 28th
Adding the base or just painting it out.

Stages 2 and 4 can be swapped as per your own style. Hell you could ignore the lot, I am not the Corpse God Emperor of you!

There no hard rules for this event because this is a hobby and so should be fun for all. Getting that unit of Horus Heresy Destroyers done, your Orc Blood Bowl team out, your Malifaux crew ready to game, etc. Use this as a chance to gain some hobby momentum for the new year.

Things to keep in mind though, this is for the troops! That means no units of Imperial Knights or dreadnoughts, no squads of vehicles etc.

This event is like the little brother of the mighty Dreadtober, run by Joe, Greggles and Sincain40K.

I, Thousand Eyes, will be pledging to complete a ten man Imperial Fists Breacher Squad from the Horus Heresy era. As you can see from the pic below there is some work ahead.

Betrayal at Calth marines and Breacher Shields.

Pledges aren’t really needed but I like the formal wording of it as a challenge to myself.

+++ On Stepping Between Games +++

The event itself will start on the 1st of February  and run until the 28th, giving us a solid four weeks to get a unit/team/squad/crew sorted and ready to game. I will be collecting links to as many blogs and Twitter accounts as I can each week to show everyone’s progress. Just let me know in the comments, Reddit or on Twitter if you want to join in!
