SilverTabby’s Random Ramblings
Welcome to Silvertabby’s Random Ramblings!
Rory has very kindly allowed me to have a regular guest spot on his web page, in which I shall meander quite randomly through my various projects, armies, musings and whatever mad conversion it has taken my fancy to build this week.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Kirsten, and I have been part of this hobby for the last 26 years. For half of that time I have professionally painted, with years of work from 2000 onwards in codeces, books (for more than one company) and the Warhammer World Exhibition Centre.
In what spare time isn’t spent wrangling children and rampaging through forests chasing monsters dressed as a psychotic wood elf or a Sister of Battle, I have been known to build and paint my
own models and armies. It is these projects that I would like to share with you, along with some painting tutorials, converting tips and – on occasion – things folk would like me to focus and give advice on.
So, today I would like to give a broad overview of the kind of madness I embark on. Some of these figures are now complete and painted, some have been languishing in drawers and boxes for anything up to decades. Some I can firmly point at Rory and say “He inspired me to get off my backside and complete these”, most notably for the recent Squaduary and Dreadtober features he ran.
Never let a silly inconvenience like there not being a model for a unit, or that you don’t like the given model hold you back! Here are some tasters of the models I have done for my ‘Nids, I shall focus on them later.
My Sisters of Battle
My main army, and which has been Unbound for many years now due to the addition of as many Dinosaurs as I can lay my hands on. For now these will be my main focus, as I am trying to ready a tournament army. They are gradually becoming a painted force…
I have played many games over the years, so have gangs for Necromunda, teams for Blood Bowl, a number of strange armies, and I am in the process of starting a Ghar force for Beyond The Gates Of Antares. There will be periodic articles featuring these too.
